Appeal Victory against National Harbor project!
On
June 27, 2003 the Maryland Court of Special Appeals ruled
against the huge National Harbor development project
which was proposed for the Potomac River immediately
south of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. The Court found
problems with too much traffic generated by the project,
and no or insufficient water quality and noise
studies. This was a great victory for the surrounding
community. There are bald eagles at the site, which
has been cleared of trees despite the fact that
the appeal was ongoing, and now lost by the developer Peterson Company.
